Dancing

Outside mathematics, my passion is dancing the Lindy Hop, a swing dance popular in the 1930s-40s and revived in the 1980s by swing dance enthusiasts principally from Sweden, the UK and the USA – now it continues to grow in popularity all over the world. You can check it out here.

I have been dancing Lindy Hop since 2011 and teaching it since 2012, in Luxembourg and now in Nijmegen, where I was one of the original founders of the scene in 2014 and continue to be one of the main organisers of classes, social dance events and workshops.

My love of the social aspect of the dance (we don’t have fixed dance partners, we like to dance with as many different people as possible) and the music of the period takes me to dance floors all over Europe and even to Australia! Most recently I was in Kraków (Poland) and Stockholm (Sweden) for Lindy Hop camps and festivals.
